After dropping some hints at the MWC 2018, HMD Global seem ready to unleash – at least – three new Nokia branded phones shortly. Everything indicates that the launch of the new products will take place in a special event on May 29 in Moscow, Russia.
The Finnish company has only launched one device – Nokia X6 - on the first two quarters of 2018, but reports that will be changing on this scheduled press event.
There is little confirmation so far about which phones are going to debut on 05/29, but, on Barcelona’s MWC, the company’s CMO Pekka Rantala confirmed that the new Nokia 5, Nokia 3 and Nokia 2 are expected to be launched soon.
Also, the website NokiaPowerUser reported that the Finnish brand could also launch the X5 and X7 globally on the same event while leaving the X6 as a China exclusive.
Another phone that could be making an appearance on the event is the Nokia 9. Several sources were expecting a late 2017 release, but so far there has been no recent update regarding what many experts see it as the smartphone that will carry the title of the first “Nokia’s flagship.”
Everything appears that this May 29 event will answer what HMD Global has in store for Nokia for the rest of 2018, and we’ll have to wait and see.
