LG’s newest flagship will hit India’s shelves on May 25
With an unusually long name and a robust set of specs, LG plans to make an impact in the flagship segment with the upcoming release of their newest device - The G7 ThinQ – on May 25.
Recent times have seen LG lose some ground competing for global relevancy between phone makers, but they are not planning to lay dead, and they are expecting that this new launch will help them on that department.
Even in these trying times, the South Korean Giant developed a solid offering in the G7 ThinQ, combining modern and stylish aesthetics, with a specs sheet that will put them in competition with any other device on the flagship segment.
After its launch, it remains to be seen if the public will embrace it with the sheer amount of top competitors available now.
Featuring the trendy screen notch, and boasting a body with front and back glass panels and an aluminum frame, this smartphone is up to standards with most competitors on this aspect.
In the specs department, this upcoming release is not lagging either.
The G7 ThinQ has a 6.1-inch IPS LCD (3120 x 1440 px res), and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, quite useful if the user chooses to hide the notch.
Internally, it runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and expandable storage via microSD card.
A second variant of the phone, known as G7 ThinQ+, will boast 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Both of these flagships will run Android 8 out of the box with LG’s AI Pack 2.0.
The brand also announced plans to push out an Android P update as soon as Google releases it.
Other features include 3000 mAh battery with QuickCharge 4.o and wireless charging, fingerprint sensor, and the use of AI in several areas of the phone like the Camera App.
On the camera department, it features a vertical dual-camera setup with a 16MP wide-angle sensor (f/1.9) and a secondary 16MP RGB sensor (f/1.9). On the front, an 8MP selfie shooter with a f/1.9 aperture.
The G7 ThinQ and ThinQ+ will start selling in India on May 25, and it is expected to go for RS 54999 for the 4GB variant.
