Short answer: on paper, yes. Apple lists the iPhone 18 Pro at exactly the same height, width and depth as the iPhone 17 Pro (150.0 × 71.9 × 8.75 mm), and the 18 Pro Max matches the 17 Pro Max (163.4 × 78.0 × 8.75 mm). Both generations list the Action button, Camera Control and USB-C. What Apple doesn't publish is the size of the camera module, so check the camera cut-out before you rely on an old case.

The only number that changes is weight: the 18 Pro is 5 g heavier and the 18 Pro Max is 16 g heavier. Weight doesn't affect how a case fits.
Why "same size" still needs a quick check
A case touches three things: the outline of the phone, the buttons and the camera. Apple's specs settle the first and point strongly on the second.
- Outline. Height, width and depth are identical to a tenth of a millimetre, so the frame of an iPhone 17 Pro case should grip an iPhone 18 Pro the same way.
- Buttons and port. Apple's comparison lists the Action button, Camera Control and a USB-C connector on both generations. Apple doesn't publish where each button sits, so treat this as a match on features rather than on exact positions.
- Camera. Both have three 48MP Fusion cameras (Main, Ultra Wide and Telephoto), but the iPhone 18 Pro's Main camera now has a variable aperture. Apple doesn't publish the dimensions of the camera module on either phone, so we can't tell you from the specs alone whether the module outline moved.
That's why we make each case separately. Our iPhone 18 Pro case is cut for that phone's camera, buttons and port, and we don't list it as fitting any other model. The same goes for our iPhone 17 Pro case. We haven't put either one on the other phone, so we won't claim they swap.
How to check your old case on the new phone
- Put the case on and press each corner. It should click in flat, with no corner lifting.
- Look at the camera from the side. The whole lens ring should sit inside the cut-out, and the raised lip should stand higher than the lenses.
- Press the Action button, the volume buttons and the side button. Each should click cleanly through the case.
- Press and slide on Camera Control. If the case covers it, make sure light presses and swipes still register.
- Plug in your USB-C cable and, if you use one, attach a MagSafe charger. Both should connect without forcing.
If all five pass, your iPhone 17 Pro case will do the job. If the cut-out touches the lenses or a corner won't seat, the case won't protect the camera properly in a drop. That's the time to switch to a case made for the iPhone 18 Pro.
What about screen protectors?
The displays are listed with the same diagonal and resolution: 6.3-inch at 2622 × 1206 on both Pro models, and 6.9-inch on both Pro Max models. Apple doesn't publish the edge curve or the Dynamic Island position as measurements, though, and a protector that's off by a fraction will lift at the edges or catch on a case lip.
