First, it was released in China in December, and now it was India’s time to receive one of the newest offerings from Xiaomi’s smartphone lineup, the Redmi 5.
India’s version of the device will be entirely manufactured locally and it will come in three different variants (2, 3, and 4 GB of RAM), and will be sold exclusively thru Amazon India, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores.
The device sports a 5.7-inch HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC (1.8GHz), with an Adreno 506 GPU, and three RAM variants (2GB, 3GB, or 4GB).
The Redmi 5 has dual-SIM (Nano) capabilities and runs MIUI 9.
On the imaging department, a 12-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, HDR, and LED flash on the back and a 5-megapixel camera with an LED selfie light, face recognition, and the Smart Beauty 3.0 app as the front shooter.
The smartphone offers three internal storage options (16GB, 32GB, and 64GB) expandable via micro SD card.
For Connectivity options it has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, and a 3300mAh battery.
Sensors wise, the phone includes an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor.
Aesthetically, this phone will be available in four different color variants: Black, Gold, Lake Blue, and Rose Gold.
