Snap’s Spectacles: A new way to see and share your life in social media
Snap, the company was formerly known as Snapchat, announced the fall launch of “Spectacles”, a new line of sunglasses with a built-in video camera that lets your share directly into the application.  The shades will cost $129 and will be released sometime during the fall season.

This exciting new product that is rechargeable (via the case), can capture a day’s worth of 10 second clips with a single charge and can connect via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, will try to expand the important growth of the brand’s application in recent years with the first device – besides the smartphone - capable of capturing video and posting it on the social media platform. The glasses will come in three colors: Black, teal, and coral.

From the technical side, the project is being led by a seasoned veteran in the mobile business that has previous experience with Google’s Android, Apple and the Moto 360 smart watch, Steve Horowitz.

With a claim that states that the app can reach around 41 percent of all 18 to 34 year-olds in the United States – according to the company – Snap launches this new strategy aiming to diversify and expand the app business, something that will rely heavily on the success, or failure, of “Spectacles”.
