HTC is focusing on getting a head start and a great year in 2017. With this goal in mind, the company has already announced their most recent flagship - The U Ultra – that will lead the charge of the U line – also debuting - into the market.
One of the highlights of this announcement is the fact that this new line will follow Apple’s trend of removing the headphone jack, while also incorporating an AI assistant within the device in the form of the “Sense Companion.”
Expected to start hitting the market in March, the U Line will have four phones, mainly divided into two categories: Play and Ultra.
They will come in four color options: Blue, Black, White, and Pink. There’s also going to be a U Ultra special edition with a sapphire glass screen (Release date not known).
A Flagship to crush the market
As soon as It hits the market, the U Ultra will become the star of HTC’s roster. That are some pretty big shoes to fill, and this device is up for the task.
On the front, a 5´7 inches main display with a 1440 x 2560-pixel, Quad HD resolution. It delivers some of the best graphics resolution in the mobile devices segment, with a very high level of sharpness and on top of it, there’s a two inches 1090p resolution display.
Physically, it’ll be the tallest phone on the market and in the width department it falls second only to the Nexus 6 but not by a large margin.
In conclusion, this amazing all glass device will try to reestablish HTC presence in the flagship category, even though it’s going against some very tough competition from other big names.
Reports indicate that the March release date is for the US, without a date for the rest of the world but hopefully it will get announce later in the year.
The phone is only going to be selling thru HTC website with a $749 price tag.
