HMD Global, the company that owns the rights to the Nokia brand, has announced a special press event on April 4 and it seems sure that they’ll release two new devices on it: The Nokia 6 2018 and the Nokia 7 plus.
These launches – and potentially a third - will follow the four phones that debuted in Barcelona at the 2018 Mobile World Congress: The Nokia 1, Nokia 6 2018, Nokia 7 Plus, and the Nokia 8 Sirocco.
It’s worth noting that since the Espoo-based company took over the famous brand in December 2016, it has been working hard towards repositioning Nokia as one of the leading mobile makers in the world.
The primary focus remains in developing and releasing several new devices at all price and features ranges.
Nokia 6 2018
With a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display (1920 x 1080 px resolution) and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset, with a 2.2GHz octa-core processor, the Adreno 508 GPU, 4GB RAM and 32/64GB of onboard storage, the Nokia 6 (2018) looks like a very promising device on paper.
In addition, storage goes up to 128GB via a microSD card, runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, and it carries a 3000mAh battery that supports fast charging.
On the back, it sports a 16MP camera with an f/2 aperture with a dual-tone LED flash. For the front shooter, goes with an 8MP also with f/2.0.
Nokia 7 Plus
For the Nokia 7 Plus, a 6’ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, that gives it the “Plus” tag.
Internally, it will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card.
On the imaging department, a dual-camera setup with Zeiss optics on the back, showcasing a 12MP camera with a wide-angle sensor coupled with a 13MP telephoto lens. On the front, a 16MP fixed focus shooter with an f/2.
Both devices appear to offer a nice set of features that would make them appealing alternatives, but the final verdict will come after the official launch on April 4.
