While the competition focuses on delivering high-end products with an equally lofty price tag, the Taiwanese phone maker continues to boost their presence with a device that promises to offer top performance without being too expensive.

An affordable game changer

After its presentation at the Mobile World Conference 2018, the Zenfone 5z was launched in France and Italy with a very affordable price for a product of its kind (499 Euros for the 6GB RAM variant).

While there’s no official word on India’s release date yet, Asus’s recent products history indicates that if they launch the 5z in India, could quickly become the most affordable flagship on the market.

Also, feature-wise this phone packs a lot of power, making it not only cheap but also a very appealing option for consumers that want the best without going broke.

Specifications

Featuring a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display (2280x1080px res), the Zenfone 5z presents a 19:9 aspect ratio and 90% screen-to-body ratio.

Processing-wise, the Snapdragon 845 chipset with this SoC is more than capable of delivering excellent performance, in either of its variants (6GB or 8GB of RAM).

As for storage, it offers 128GB or 256GB onboard.

In the imaging department, the smartphone has a vertical dual camera setup with a 12MP Sony IMX363 sensor (f/1.8 and an 83 degrees field of view) while the second is an 8MP sensor that delivers a 120-degree field of view. On the front, an 8 MP shooter.

Whenever Asus decides to launch the Zenfone 5z in India, it will go to the battle with current high-end phones like the Mi 8 and the OnePlus 6, in the race for the most affordable flagship in the Asian country’s market.
