The “OnePlus 7” launch brings a new player for the flagship supremacy

With its most recent announcement, OnePlus continues to assert itself as one of the top mobile brands in the world and one that continues to climb ranks across all segments.

The OnePlus 7 was launched on May 14, simultaneously with the OnePlus 7 Pro - in Bengaluru, London, and New York, and it has the features to sit among the best smartphone currently available in the market.

The device can hold a maximum of 8GB RAM, it is the powerful Snapdragon 855 SoC and uses UFS 3.0 2-lane storage, among its many features. The 7, and 7 pro are a new testament to the companies’ policy of delivering robust, aesthetically striking devices in a crowded flagship market.

What’s inside the OnePlus 7?

The OnePlus 7 features a 6.41-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) Optic AMOLED display with a 19.5:9 ratio, and 402ppi pixel density while supporting sRGB and DCI-P3 color gamuts.

The beautiful, crisp display is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 6.

As processing power goes, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, with the Adreno 640 GPU, holding up to 8GB of RAM (The phone will offer two variants: 6GB RAM/128GB and 8 GB/256 GB of storage).

Running a dual-SIM (Nano) setup, the phone runs OxygenOS based on Android 9.0 Pie, resulting in an exciting combination of top of the line features and the latest generation of Google’s Os.

Imaging-wise, the OnePlus 7 features a dual setup in the back (a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor, with an f/1.7 aperture, 1.6-micron pixels (4-in-1), optical image stabilisation (OIS), electronic image stabilisation (EIS), and phase detection autofocus (PDAF), and a secondary 5-megapixel sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and 1.12-micron pixels).

The setup is accompanied by a dual-LED flash module.

On the video side, it records 4K video at up to 60fps, 1080p video at up to 240fps, and 720p video at up to 480fps, with two Super Slow Motion modes.

The front camera uses a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 sensor fitted within the waterdrop-shaped notch.

As for colors alternatives go, you’ll find two options: Mirror Grey and Red color.
