Asus will unleash the Zenfone Max Pro M1 in India on May 3

The midrange lineup from Asus has a new addition, and it is the Zenfone Max Pro M1, and this upcoming device will be hitting India’s stores shelves on May 3.

This handset comes with a robust package of specifications, and overall value will look to make its presence felt in a market segment in which it will be facing stiff competition for the top from phones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, among many others.

Specifications are the name of the game

While pricing can be a significant factor in the midrange segment, the specs can be the deciding factor for a phone to take the top and the Asus’s newcomer is not a slouch of any sort.

Powered by the popular Snapdragon 636 system on chip, the Zenfone is armed with a lot of processing power, but that’s just the beginning.

This dual-SIM headset will come in two variants: 3GB RAM & 32GB int. storage, or 4GB and 64GB storage.

For storage, you can choose between the two variants, and both can be expanded with a micro SD card up to 2TB.

Software-wise, it will come with “vanilla” Android 8.1 (Oreo) out of the box, and the brand assured that it will receive proper updates to Android P and Q when the time comes.

On the camera department, brings a dual camera setup at the back (13 mpx OmniVision sensor and a 5-mpx secondary depth sensing sensor), and another one on the front (8-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture, an 85.5-degree wide-angle lens, and a 5P lens). Both setups get soft-light LED flash.

As for Connectivity options, the Zenfone Max Pro M1 include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, BDS, GLONASS, Micro-USB, and a headphone jack.

Also, the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 comes with the following sensors: Face Unlock, fingerprint, among others.

The release date for both Indian (exclusively via Flipkart) and global markets is May 3.
